A Voice of Mine – The Inner Voice That Wouldn’t Let Me Give Up | Self-Discovery Posts | Life's Lessons
Sometimes, your loudest critic lives inside your own head — but so does your quietest hope.
🌻
I never really thought much about what I did or what I wanted. I used to expect a good life from God, believing that if I wished sincerely, he would provide, but I was wrong. Even God doesn’t give us everything completely — some things we have to earn for ourselves.
It isn’t necessary that whatever we desire, we receive immediately.
The same goes for happiness.
Happiness isn’t our property. It doesn’t belong to us by default, and we don’t automatically have the right to it. Happiness comes to those who fight for it, who claim it with their will and courage.
That thought echoed within me, whispering softly:
“What doesn’t belong to you, you must earn. You must achieve it. Otherwise, you’ll remain as you are.”
I smiled bitterly and answered that silly voice inside me:
“Listen, you. I don’t think I deserve happiness. I don’t have the strength to fight this world. Let others stay happy with their joys and smiles — I’m fine without them. I’m content giving smiles to others, even if none are left for me. Maybe I’ve done too many wrongs to expect peace. Maybe I’m meant to live this way — bad, emotionless, undeserving. Let me stay with my pain; at least it’s familiar.”
I sat near a tree, watching a train rush by on the tracks ahead.
The sound lingered in the air, and the voice spoke again — gentler this time, but stronger:
“Life is a journey — a long railway track. Right now, you’re standing on a platform that isn’t pleasant. It’s crowded, noisy, and frustrating. But this isn’t the only platform you’ll ever see. There are others ahead — cleaner, quieter, brighter. You just have to move forward. Even if you don’t find the perfect one immediately, there are still more waiting for you. I am with you in every way. I am your strength. Don’t think you’ve lost.”
Something in me softened.
Maybe that voice was right.
Keep Moving Forward
Don’t worry if your current platform isn’t what you hoped for. Be patient. This phase — however difficult — is temporary.
Like a passing train, it will move on.
And when it does, a new platform will appear — one that feels right, one where you can breathe again.
Keep going.
Carry your hopes with you, even when they feel heavy.
Because the greatest strength you have is you — and that quiet, persistent voice inside that refuses to give up.
✨ “You don’t have to win every fight — just don’t stop moving.”
I truly hope you find that good platform in your life soon — one that feels right, peaceful, and your own.
And when you do, I’ll be genuinely happy for you. Congratulations on everything you’ve already overcome to get here.
