Never Quit Writing: Beginner Tips | Writing Journal
Hello fellow writers😊,
This is a small note for you all, especially for the new writers or the beginners who are passionate about writing but are confused and tired.
Hi, I’m Mankum, and in today’s post, I want to talk about something that almost every writer—especially beginners—struggles with, but rarely talks about openly.
Confusion😕
Yes.
Confusion about life.
Confusion about dreams.
Confusion about what to write, how to write, and when to write.
But, tell me, are you a robot that you don't have this confusion?
No! So, confusion is not a big deal.
Sometimes our mind is full of ideas—plots, poems, articles, stories—but there is no clear plan to execute them. We create everything in our head, we curate it carefully, and then suddenly… it vanishes. That moment is frustrating. Irritating. Almost exhausting.
And if you’re a writer, you know exactly what I mean.
Right?
Oh yes, because I also face all these, even after 8 years of continuous writing.
So all I want to say is—don't chase everything.
Here are some pointers for you:
- You’re Not Alone in This😊
Every creative person—writers, artists, musicians, even entrepreneurs—gets stuck at some point. Having too many thoughts and too little clarity is just part of the journey.
Sometimes we get tired of thinking.
Sometimes we have too much to do but no direction.
Sometimes we feel motivated, and sometimes completely blank.
That’s normal.
That’s part of the process.
- I’m a Beginner Too (Even After 8 Years)🪴
I’ve been in this field for around eight years, writing something almost every day—stories, thoughts, philosophies, plans, or even unfinished ideas. I haven’t mastered it, but I haven’t left it either.
Because I love writing.
I love observing the world.
I love capturing stories in my mind.
I love creating—even when it feels exhausting.
Many may not understand or appreciate it. That’s fine. Writing isn’t about recognition. It’s about staying with your craft. Slowly, steadily, day by day.
Writing is not a one-day task or a single-effort achievement. Sometimes it takes years and years, and then someday it turns into something beautifully magical.
For a writer, the only thing that truly matters is to write.
Writing doesn’t always have to be hectic—it’s a beautiful process meant to be enjoyed. Sometimes you create, and sometimes you simply pause and breathe.
- The Real Struggle of Writers: Time🕐
Life moves fast, and if writing isn’t your full-time job, it can feel impossible to keep up. Some days you have energy, some days none. Some days are overflowing with ideas, others are blank.
That’s when beginners feel like quitting.
But don’t.
Writing will never become a burden if it comes from love.
- For Writers Who Always Feel Like Beginners😇
Even experienced writers often feel like beginners. The heart of a writer is fragile yet resilient—it holds emotions, thoughts, and stories in a delicate balance.
If you feel like giving up because of self-doubt, lack of time, or pressure—pause, take breaks, explore other things—but never abandon writing completely.
Listen, writing chooses you. And that’s a gift. It’s not always about success or recognition. Sometimes it’s simply about being alive in your own world of words.
Even when writers don’t have ideas, they are searching for one.
Here’s my advice:
- Grab a notepad on your phone, or a pen and paper.
- Don’t aim for perfection. Aim for honesty and completion.
- Start small. Even 100 words a day matter.
The key is consistency and sincerity. That’s all.
Your job is not to make it perfect.
Your job is to complete it—with honesty and with your whole heart.
That’s enough for you.
It really is that simple.
- Final Words✍
It's not that hard.
Don’t try to figure out everything at once.
Let some ideas go—but never all of them.
Some ideas are meant only for you.
So try to search for them, but don't force any.
Keep writing what you love.
Writing is addictive—it’s a sweet poison that pulls you away from reality and takes you to your own world.
Be creative.
Be patient.
Be a writer.
That's the overall formula.
I hope you loved this post.
I believe you’re going to create something amazing very soon.
And if you’d like to share it, I’ll be happy to read it.
If this helped you in any way, I’d truly love to hear about it—so don’t stop yourself from writing about your experience. It genuinely makes me feel good to know that it helped.
Tell me—what’s going on in your mind right now?
And what would you like me to write about next?
Until then, write with heart, write consistently, write bravely.
Until then, write with heart, write consistently, write bravely.
