Whispers of Ink: My Journey into the World of Words
"I never knew that a day would come when words would become my entire world."
It all started when I was young. I never imagined that I would ever be a writer. My first love was art—it was my favorite hobby throughout childhood. Until the age of 12, I was deeply engrossed in sketching and painting, letting my creativity flow through colors and strokes. But slowly, without even realizing it, I stepped into the world of words.
It began with lyrics. I started crafting songs, giving them rhythm, melody, and emotion. This, in turn, led to the art of weaving shayaris, setting up story plots, and creating entire worlds through my imagination. My inspiration came from everything around me—Disney movies, the stories in our school books, and life itself. But above all, it was nature that truly became my muse. The rustling of leaves, the quiet whispers of the wind, the golden hues of sunset—all of it breathed life into my creativity, urging me to weave emotions into words.
One of my biggest inspirations came when I read "The Merchant of Venice" by William Shakespeare. I know it wasn’t the kind of story that typically inspires someone to become a writer, but for me, it was the turning point. It sparked a fire within me to craft stories that resonated with emotions, characters, and meaningful plots. Up until that moment, I had been writing stories, but I had never considered stepping into poetry. It wasn't something I thought would be my cup of tea.
However, after completing my 12th grade, I found myself with some time to explore my passions further. By then, I had countless ideas for books but struggled to figure out where to begin. After some research, I discovered Blogger and decided to use it as a platform to share my stories. But I quickly realized that Blogger was designed for blog posts, not for publishing books. Even so, I knew that before I could publish a book, I needed an audience.
That’s when I launched my blog and published my first story, titled "Luck and the Boy". It was a spontaneous creation, but once I hit that publish button, something inside me clicked. From there, storytelling became second nature.
For a while, I focused on blogging and crafting stories until I stumbled upon YourQuote, a platform that changed everything for me. YourQuote not only gave me a space to write but also introduced me to an audience who appreciated my work. I began writing quotes and motivational content, experimenting with poetry here and there. However, it wasn’t until I accepted the 365 Days, 365 Quotes challenge that my poetry journey truly began.
The process of creating poetry felt so natural, so effortless, that I never had to force it. I would simply focus on what I wanted to express, and my heart and mind would do the rest. The words would flow, weaving themselves into a piece of art without me even realizing it. Poetry became my comfort, my escape, my way of breathing life into emotions. Unlike writing lengthy stories, poetry was quick yet powerful, making me fall in love with it even more.
This love for poetry led me to publish my first Hindi poetry book, "Mausami Khat – Sardiyon Ki Kahaniyan", a reflection of my love for winter. As I continued writing, I began exploring my own thoughts and feelings more deeply. This journey resulted in another special book, "Little is the Life", a collection of poetry, musings, and phrases about life’s fleeting moments—the feeling of being lost and found, and the beauty of existence itself. This book holds a special place in my heart as it captures the essence of what poetry means to me.
I may not know much about love for people, but I surely know about love for poetry. It is my healer, my safe space, my home. People often say that great writers must read a lot of books, but for me, writing was never about reading countless pages. It was about feeling, about letting my heart lead the way. My words never felt forced; they came naturally, as if they already knew where they wanted to go. Much like nature, poetry has its own rhythm—it moves with the seasons, it breathes with the wind, and it finds a way to bloom like wildflowers in the most unexpected places.
For me, writing is effortless, just like love should be—natural, fulfilling, and unburdened. It is not something I pressure myself to do; rather, it is something that comes to me whenever I need it, whenever my soul calls for it. This love for writing has accompanied me throughout different phases of life, even as I completed college and secured a job. I never saw my passion as something that had to earn me a living; instead, I gave it the space to breathe and grow on its own terms.
Through this journey, I continued crafting poetry, which eventually led to my latest book, "Colorful Berries", with its first part titled "The Night Symphonies". This book is another testament to my deep connection with poetry, a collection that holds pieces of my soul within its verses.
So, this is how I found poetry, and this is how it became my home. A world where words embrace me, where emotions dance freely, where my heart speaks its truth, and where nature whispers endless stories waiting to be told.
